After a double header sweep over Huron on Wednesday, Pierre Post 8 heads to Minot for a weekend tournament beginning Friday and running through Sunday.
The Eights are 2-3 against teams outside of South Dakota this year as they will face two North Dakota teams and a Minnesota team. The Eights have won its last nine games against South Dakota opponents but it’s another chance to tinker with the lineup throughout the weekend on the all-turf field in Minot.
The Eights will face Watertown, Minnesota at 5:00 tonight followed by the final game of the day between Pierre and Minot. On Saturday, Pierre will face Mandan at 12:00 and then will be placed in either the 5:00 game Saturday night as the one or four seed, or the 7:30 game as the two or three seed. If the Eights win Saturday night, they will play in the championship game on Sunday at noon.
