Pierre Trappers Fall to Sunfish in Two Game Home Set

The Pierre Trappers couldn’t put an end to the losing streak as they fell 9-3 to the Sioux Falls Sunfish on Thursday at Hyde Stadium. It’s the seventh consecutive loss for the Trappers.

The Trappers were held down to just five hits over the course of the game and Nick Strong had the lone RBI in the game for Pierre as Sioux Falls won all three games against the Trappers, one in Sioux Falls and the last two in Pierre. Sioux Falls opened up a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning with a couple of RBI singles and added another three runs in both the sixth and eighth innings to keep Pierre at an arm’s length throughout the ballgame.

The Trappers are now 6-12 on the season and are 9.5 games out of first place in the Clark Division behind the Fremont Moo. The Trappers will travel to Minot for a weekend series with the Lewis Division leader, Souris Valley Sabre Dogs. First pitch on Friday is at 7:05.
