Fort Pierre Woman Indicted On Meth Charges By Federal Grand Jury

PIERRE — A Fort Pierre woman has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges connected to methamphetamine. Acting U-S Attorney Dennis Holmes says 42 year-old Lisa Herren was indicted last week and pleaded not guilty to the Indictment. According to the Indictment Herren was involved with others in the distribution of over 50 grams of methamphetamine in the Pierre/Fort Pierre area from September of 2018 and June of 2021. If convicted, Herren could face up to 40 years in federal prison with a mandatory minimum of five years in custody. A fine of five-thousand dollars, at least four years of probation with possibility of life on probation, restitution and other fees could be assessed at sentencing. Herren is in the custody of the U-S Marshals Service awaiting trial. A trial date has not been set.
