Post 8 Hosts Watertown in Doubleheader

Pierre Post 8 remains at home this week with six games over the next four days beginning with a doubleheader against Watertown on Wednesday.

Watertown did not play a spring high school season so the legion team has played 21 South Dakota legion games heading into the doubleheader including having played a doubleheader in each of the last two days. This Watertown team is never out of any game as they had a long comeback against Mitchell earlier in the year and scored seven times in the bottom of the seventh to walk-off Renner 2 on Monday, 8-7.

For Post 8, even though the record sits at 2-4, this isn’t a team still trying to get into the swing of games. The high school team won 21 games this spring and with the exception of two players, is the same team for legion.

Brian White, manager of Post 8, says the pitchers need to keep believing and working to get better on a daily basis…

White wants the hitters to continue to be aggressive at the plate…

White says it’s a pretty easy formula for success against Watertown…

First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 with pregame beginning at 4:40 on KCCR, todayskccr.com and available to watch on YouTube at KCCR sports with Jon Winkler and Greg Dean on the call.
