Thursday night, the Class A All-State and All-Region teams were released and the Pierre Governors have several on the list.
Lincoln Kienholz is the lone Governor on First Team All-State as he racked up plenty of single season records for the Governor. He is one of two sophomores selected to the first team and one of just five non seniors to get the honor. Junior Brady Getz is the lone Gov on the second team All-State with his dominant pitching over the season. Getz worked his way as one of the top pitchers not just with Pierre but in the state in his first year in high school baseball.
For the All-Region team, Andy Gordon, Bennett Dean and Matt Hanson join Kienholz and Getz for five total players, tied for the state high with the other top four teams of Lincoln, Roosevelt and Harrisburg. The trio of Kienholz, Getz and Hanson will all return for the 2022 season.
