PIERRE — Vitalant Blood Donation is supporting six blood drives in central South Dakota this June including June 1st and 2nd in Pierre at Trinity Episcopal Church. Senior Donor Recruiter Abbie Arneson says like many other entities, Vitalant is loosening mask requirements….

Arneson says Vitalant staff is still required to wear masks. Vitalant is also planning to stop Covid-19 antibody testing at the beginning of July…

If case numbers increase Vitalant may resume antibody testing. Arneson says the need for blood never changed during the height of the pandemic…

In addition to the blood drives in Pierre on June 1st and 2nd, blood drives will be held at St John’s Catholic Church in Fort Pierre June 14; Avera St. Mary’s hospital on June 16th and in Gettysburg at Grace Bible Church on June 21st and 22nd. For more information go online to vitalant.org
