Kienholz, Gordon, Raske Fill up Pierre Governors Single Season and Career Records

The Pierre Governor baseball team unfortunately won’t be heading to the State Final Four this weekend but you can’t dismiss the successful season in 2021 with only the second team in history reaching 20 wins as a team.

Greg Dean, color analyst for Pierre sports helped update records to reflect the 2021 season. Lincoln Kienholz, Andy Gordon and Maguire Raske found themselves at the top of plenty of categories for the season and for Raske, career categories. Gordon and Raske are now at the top of plate appearances for single season with 100 and 97 respectively. Gordon also finished tied for first with eight doubles in a season and three RBIs shy of the single season lead with RBIs as he drove in 21 runs this season. Raske and Kienholz were beneficiaries of those RBIs as Kienholz tied the single season mark of 30 runs scored while also setting the mark for 36 hits, nine triples, 16 extra base hits, 61 total bases and a .468 batting average. Those are all now new single season records for the Governors.

Raske finishes his long career with the Govs second in plate appearances, fourth in at bats, the leader in walks, third in on base percentage, fifth in stolen bases and fifth in pitching strike outs.

Pierre finished with the third best win percentage in team history behind 2018 and 2015 teams. Overall Pierre baseball is 132-43 which is a .754 win percentage since the team began in 2013. You can see those below.
