Tuesday afternoon, the Pierre Governor Track and Field team will host the Capitol City Qualifier at Hollister Field. Sully Buttes and Stanley County will another two of the total 11 teams participating.
Pierre was able to still compete on Saturday in Aberdeen even with the rain and cold temperatures that looked like it would cancel all events around the state but the Govs didn’t let it affect them climbing to multiple wins on the day.
Sully Buttes and Stanley County, along with Pierre, begin a two meet week in what is the final regular season week of the season. The Buffaloes will compete again on Friday before the region meet next week. The Chargers will be Onida on Saturday in the conference meet before competing in the Region 2B meet the following Thursday to wrap up the season and try and qualifier for the state track meet in Rapid City on May 28-29.
This is the last home event for the Governors in 2021. Pierre will be in Aberdeen on Saturday for the ESD meet.
