Pierre Tennis Wins Own Tournament

The Pierre Governor Tennis team had just about everything go right for them on Friday as Pierre won its own Invitational Tournament behind three of the total nine flights winning championships.

Spencer Kelly and Luke Leingang were the two guys to win the championships in the three flights; each won their singles flight with Leingang at three and Kelly at four. The two teamed up to win the Doubles Flight 2. Overall on the two days, Leingang went 12-0, 6-0 in both days and Kelly went 11-0, 5-0 on Thursday and 6-0 on Friday. Carter Schulz in Singles Flight 5 and the team of Denton Beck and Jacob Mayer in Doubles Flight 3 finished in second place to help push the Governors to the top of the team overall standings with a  313. Lennox was second at 290 and Rapid City Christian was third at 268. Pierre won the singles category with a 188 while Lennox finished at 170 and in the doubles, Pierre narrowly beat Rapid City Christian and Lennox as the Govs had a 125 while Christian was at 123 and Lennox, 120.
