South Dakota State Faces Delaware in FCS Semifinals

BROOKINGS, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — South Dakota State will make its third appearance in the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs in the last four seasons this Saturday against Delaware. SDSU Coach John Stiegelmeier is excited for this game…

State is looking to get over the semifinal hump after dropping a 51-16 decision at James Madison in 2017, followed by a 44-21 setback at North Dakota State in 2018.

Delaware, which received the Colonial Athletic Association’s automatic bid into the 16-team playoff field, holds a 7-0 record this season, including playoff victories over Sacred Heart and fourth-seeded Jacksonville State. Coach Stiegelmeier says Delaware has no weaknesses and the most impressive thing about them is the defense…

And Stiegelmeier says he’s impressed with Delaware’s runningback…

Kickoff at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium is set for 11 a.m. this Saturday.
