Pierre City Commission Approves Pierre Trapper Request For Friday Night Home Game Fireworks

PIERRE — The Pierre City Commission has approved a request by the Pierre Trappers baseball team to discharge fireworks after select home games in 2021 at Hyde Stadium…

Pierre Fire Chief Ian Paul says the request is similar to prior years were the Friday night displays are launched from behind the right center field wall in the Boys and Girls Club parking lot…

Trappers General Manager Kelsey Nash says the Boys and Girls Club is in agreement with the plan, but was concerned about fireworks debris being left behind…

Fireworks will be discharged after Friday night home Pierre Trapper games on May 28th, July 9th and August 6th. Smith Fireworks will again be in charge of the fireworks display. A Trappers staffer will be required to be stationed south of the railroad tracks to clear up fireworks fallout. In a side note, Nash says the Trappers are still in need of at least 15 host families for players and interns before the season begins.
