The Pierre Governors scored a combined 29 runs in two games against Rapid City Central as they won 9-3 in the first game and 20-4 in the second game of a doubleheader sweep of the Cobblers.
Pierre scored four times in the first inning of game one and used two RBIs from Maguire Raske and Bennett Dean to roll to a 9-3 win in game one. Jake Mayer threw three outstanding innings for the Governors striking out six, five of which came in a row.
In the second game, Rapid City Central jumped out to a 3-0 lead but the Governors fired back with a seven run first inning and a nine run second inning. Pierre’s Matt Hanson went 4-4 in the game with four singles and 3 RBIs. The Governors had five with RBIs in game one and another eight with RBIs in the second game including Spencer Letellier having four RBIS.
