Team SD 16U Boys Now 2-0 after Win over Atlanta

After the Atlanta Fire won 8-0 in the first game of the tournament and peppered 72 shots on goal, Team South Dakota 16U had the work cut out for them. But Team SD didn’t allow it to intimidate them as they picked up a 4-1 win to move to 2-0 in the tournament and in the drivers seat to win the pool.

Dawson Wirth scored two goals en route to the win for Team SD. Both teams finished with 29 shots on goal but goalie Cole Langston saw half of the shots in the third period as Atlanta turned up the intensity but Langston held strong in net. With the win, Team SD will play in Sunday’s semifinal but beating 0-2 Delaware on Saturday would clinch the pool win. The game is scheduled for 4:00 on Saturday.
