The Pierre Governor Golf team was much stronger in Thursday’s invite under better weather as they finished in fourth place as a team with a +78.
Pierre, who finished seventh on Tuesday, was 19 shots better on Thursday and of the six teams competing were 23 shots ahead of fifth place Huron. Pierre moved five strokes closer to Aberdeen Central who won both on Tuesday and Thursday. Ellie Jo Simpson had the best day for Pierre shooting a 13 over par, 85, good for ninth place on the day. Shannon McCormick of O’Gorman won the event shooting an even par, 72. Haley Nadeau was three shots behind Simpson at 16 over par while Hadley Hart finished 22 over and Madilyn Brakke was 27 over for the Governors top four finishers.
Pierre will be in Huron next week Thursday at Broadland Creek Golf Course. The invite is set to tee off at 10:00.
