PIERRE — The Pierre City Commission is meeting tonight at the Pierre Municipal Building Tonight’s meeting will begin in special business with a proclamation for Arbor Day before Commissioners turn their attention to consideration of a six-item consent calendar. The calendar includes approval of the minutes from the April 20th meeting, new hires in the Street, Park and Water Departments, a raffle request filed by PAWS Animal Rescue and the Pierre Fraternal Order of Police Lodge Nine and the claims. Commissioners will deal with only three items of new business tonight. On the agenda is a request to bid a skidsteer for the Street Department; the introduction of a special assessment project to extend Black Hills Drive and corrective plat in the Cactus Heights Addition. Commissioners will complete the meeting by presenting any dialogue they may have. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 pm.
