Pierre Track Sees New Winners at Corn Palace Relays

The Pierre Governor Track and Field team had an impressive showing on Saturday at the Mitchell Corn Palace Relays in its lone competition of the week after the Miller Quad was canceled on Tuesday.

The Governors saw some new faces win events and sit atop of the events as well as Maya Shorter won the Shot Put, Remi Price was second in the triple jump and third in the long jump, Marissa Matthews was second in the pole vault, Olivia Swenson finished second in the discus, Isabella Jackley was third in the 100 meter dash, Danielle Beck was second in the 300 meter hurdles and Jessica Lutmer was third in 3200 meter run and second in the 1600 meter run.

On the boys side for the Governors, Blake Wagner was second in the discus while Houston Lunde also finished second in the shot put.
