Pierre Travels to Harrisburg on Saturday

The Harrisburg Tigers are off to a great start as they are now 12-0 after sweeping Mitchell on Thursday. The Pierre Governors will look to be the first team to knock them off in a doubleheader on Saturday in Harrisburg.

The Governors, at 5-1, lost for the first time last Saturday as they split with Mitchell but were shutout in the loss. The Governors offense, potent in the first weekend, was much less effective in the second weekend. With a solid pitching staff for Harrisburg, Pierre will look to have a strong start with the bats in the doubleheader as they look to improve on its 5-1 record. In the first standings, released on Tuesday, Pierre was in sixth place with 42.167 power points. Harrisburg was third at 43.000 with only six of its first 10 games coming against South Dakota Class A opponents.

The doubleheader is set for first pitch at 2:00 on Saturday. Coverage will begin around 1:40 on Today’s KCCR, todayskccr.com and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler and Greg Dean on the call.
