Service will continue on a 50-passenger Embraer E-R-J-145 twin-engine jet. Pierre recommended a three-year contract by SkyWest Airlines that included split-hub flights to Denver and Chicago. The U-S DOT generally selects the recommended carrier, but ultimately makes the final decision as contract holder for the contract term. SkyWest will continue serving Pierre until the new contract begins on June 1st.
