After sweeping the first weekend of the year with near 60 hits and scoring 70 runs, the Pierre Governor baseball team will be back on the road on Saturday as they face the Mitchell Kernels.
With heavy rain on Tuesday and continuing through Thursday morning, the decision has been made to push Friday’s originally scheduled date to Saturday afternoon at 1:00 and 3:00. The Kernels are coming Saturday’s contest with a doubleheader sweep of Yankton on Monday as Mitchell opened up the year with those two wins. Mitchell was the 2019 state runner up losing to O’Gorman in the title game in South Dakota’s last high school season. However, there are just three players from that squad.
