One of the two Pierre City Commission spots is open as Commissioner Jim Mehlhaff is not running again. The Pierre School Board will see five people running for two school board positions. Incumbents Randy Hartmann and Dennis James have returned petitions and will be challenged by Bree Oatman, Paul Giovanetti and Lindsay Strohfus. The Pierre City Commission and School Board election is June 8th. Two elections will be held for positions on the Fort Pierre City Council on April 13th. Todd Burnhard is unopposed and will retain his seat. In Ward III incumbent Randy Seiler will face challenger Rick Cronin and in Ward I incumbent Greg Kenzy face Brady Gaer. Callie Iverson is unopposed in filling the Ward II opening being left by Bob Ricketts who is stepping away from the Council after 36 years of service.
