The Pierre Governor girls are one win away from a berth into the state tournament as the Govs will host the Brookings Bobcats in the SoDak 16 tonight.
Pierre is at 17-3 on the season and has remained near the top of the standings throughout the year. The big win on Monday, solidified the two seed for the Govs and will take on the 15 seed, Brookings who is 5-15. The two teams played back on Valentine’s Day with an earlier start time due to winter weather. The Govs handled the Bobcats in Brookings with a 57-31 win. Pierre is looking to make the state tournament for the first time since 2017-18 season. The winner of the game will face the winner of Rapid City Stevens and Huron in the first round of the state tournament next Thursday in Sioux Falls.
