The Pierre Governor volleyball regular season came to an end with a tough loss in a sweep to Jefferson on the road on Tuesday. Jefferson would take it 25-13, 25-14 and 25-17.

The Governors had just four leads the entire night with its largest and farthest at 9-7 in the third set. Pierre had just five kills in the first set with Ayvrie Kaiser picking up the first four. Pierre didn’t have an answer for Jefferson’s offense and couldn’t figure out the Cavalier defense. Emory Brosnahan had 15 kills as the sophomore would lead all hitters on the evening as the Cavs improved to 21-6 on the season. Makayla Sherwood, Makenna Schlekeway and Reese Terwilliger all had four kills for the Govs who finish the season at 15-5. The Governors did get help from Aberdeen Central on the night as the Golden Eagles would defeat Roosevelt securing the five spot for the Govs heading into the SoDak 16.

Pierre will host the SoDak 16 next Thursday, Nov. 10. First serve time and opponent are still to be determined but coverage will start a half hour before first serve on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports.
