Fort Pierre Woman Sentenced To Federal Prison Time On Drug Charge

PIERRE — A Fort Pierre woman is sentenced on federal drug charges. U-S Attorney Alison Ramsdell says 43 year-old Lisa Herren was sentenced to a 26 month federal prison term on a charge of Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance. Herren was indicted by a federal grand jury in June of last year and entered a guilty plea in January. Herren was sentenced Monday. Her sentence includes four years of supervised release and a one-thousand dollar fine. Ramsdell says Herren began conspiring with others in September of 2018 to distribute methamphetamine in Stanley County. It’s believed over 50 grams of meth was distributed during the course of the conspiracy. Herren has been turned over to the U-S Marshal’s Service to begin her sentence.
