Governor Defense Stands Tall, Pierre Routs Watertown to State Semifinal

The Pierre Governors held the Watertown offense to just one score and a safety as they beat the six seeded Arrows 38-9 to advance to the state semifinal next week Friday.

The Governors took the opening drive just 29 yards on eight plays to score first on one of two Lincoln Kienholz touchdown runs. Watertown took its first play to tie the game up at 7-7 with a 74 yard catch from Cole Holden. Then the defense clamped down and did not allow another point. Drew Norberg finished the night 9-23 for 183 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. Norberg also lost a fumble as the Watertown season ends at 3-7.

Lincoln Kienholz finished the night 16-29 for 293 yards, two touchdowns and a pick.
