Fort Pierre Votes To Select Candidates For Two City Council Spots Today

FORT PIERRE — Fort Pierre kicks off the 2021 local government election season today. Voting for two Fort Pierre City Council spots is taking place at the Pat Duffy Community and Youth Involved Center from eight am to eight pm Central time, which is of course seven am to seven pm Mountain time, which is Fort Pierre’s legal time zone for elections. In Ward I, incumbent Greg Kenzy has a challenge from Brady Gaer. In Ward III incumbent Randy Sieler is facing off against challenger Rick Cronin. The Fort Pierre City Council will see at least one new face as Callie Iverson is unopposed to fill the chair being vacated by Bob Ricketts after 36 years of service. Todd Bernhard is unopposed for a Ward III seat. After today, there is an eight week gap to the Pierre City Commission/School Board. Two seats are up for grabs in both governing bodies.
