For the final time in the regular season, the Pierre Governors are set for action as the Govs travel to Box Elder to face the Douglas Patriots for the first of two Thursday night games.
The Governors are looking to get out of Box Elder healthy with a win as the Govs are 8-0 on the season and face the 1-7 Douglas Patriots who haven’t played in two weeks after forfeiting the game to Yankton last Friday due to injuries and the lack of players available. Tonight, Pierre wants to handle its business and gear up for the playoffs next week where the Govs will be the top seed. Steve Steele, head coach of the Pierre Governors says tonight is still about the process…
On paper, the Governors are favored by plenty and it’s a chance for the starters to be able to handle business and let the younger guys and second string players get on the field. Steele says if they can get the extra rest it will be huge…
The Governors are the number one seed regardless of a win or loss and Steele points out the most point important part tonight outside of the final outcome…
Coverage tonight begins at 6:30 with a 7:00 Central Time kickoff from Box Elder on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
