FORT PIERRE, (KCCR) — Sentencing for a Pierre woman charged with Grand Theft by Embezzlement has been delayed until November. Forty-eight year=old Dusti Deal was scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday after changing her plea to guilty at a Stanley County court hearing in August. At the August change of plea hearing Deal’s attorney Katie Thompson requested a suspended imposition of sentence. Stanley County State’s Attorney Thomas P. Maher requested nearly 50-thousand dollars in restitution to include the just over 45-thousand dollars Deal allegedly made in unauthorized credit card purchases on a card belonging to the Community and Youth Involved Center and over 46-hundred in auditing expenses. The delay in sentencing, this time, came at the request of prosecutors marking the sixth time a continuance has been granted in Deal’s case. The charge against Deal was first brought in June of 2025. She originally pleaded not guilty to the charge in August of 2025.
