PIERRE, (KCCR) — A recent blood drive pitting two local businesses against each other for bragging rights has completed bringing in much needed blood to support a critically low supply. BankWest and Morris Incorporated joined forces for the Dirt Movers versus Money Movers Blood Drive. T-J Gallagher with Morris says it was close at the finish…
The blood drive started September 21st and ended October 2nd, a two week stretch. After the first week Morris had a 16-to-seven lead, before BankWest closed the gap in the final week. The blood drive was similar to the annual Guns ‘n Hoses blood drive where donors pledged to one side or another. The blood drive was inspired by a Morris employee whose life was saved by donated blood and wanted to do something to support the local blood supply.
