Two Pierre Governors would finish with a consolation championship on Friday at the Class AA State tournament as the Pierre Governors would finish in 11th place in Rapid City.
Bowers in flight one would finish at 2-0 on the day and upset the eight seed as the 11 seed would get the consolation title for the Governors in the top flight. Mayer, in flight two, would not be outdone as the seven seed would work around being upset in the first round to finish at 3-1 in the tournament and take home the consolation championship. Adrian Hand in flight three would make the fifth place championship, but the sixth seed would fall in the match and finish in sixth, the highest finishing Governor on the year. Both Avery Schwartz in flight four and Emma Barnett in flight six would drop their fifth place semifinal matches.
In doubles, Bowers and Mayer in flight one would fall in the consolation semifinal along with Schwartz and Ainsley Dilges in flight three being eliminated one win short of making the consolation finals. Hand and Gemma Stangeland in flight two would fall in the fifth place semifinals.
As a team, Pierre would finish in 11th place with 108 points, 11 points behind Brandon Valley for 10th. Stevens would finish with the AA state title as a team with a total of 479 points, 16.5 points ahead of Lincoln, who led after the first day.
