PIERRE, (KCCR) — The names of those involved in a fatal two-vehicle crash in Faulk County have been released by the South Dakota Highway Patrol. The crash happened Saturday, just after two-pm at the intersection of South Dakota Highway 45 and 155th Street, approximately five miles west of Cresbard. The preliminary crash investigation indicates a 2021 Ford Edge S-U-V driven by 70 year-old Debra Hobert of Harrold was traveling south on Highway 45 at the time of the crash. At the same time, a 2022 Ford F-350 Super Duty pickup, driven by a 16 year-old male from Faulkton, was on 155th, approaching the highway in a westbound direction. The pick up entered the intersection and was struck by the S-U-V. Killed in the crash was 72 year-old Gary Hobert, also of Harrold. The 16 year-old was not identified and sustained minor injuries. Seat belt use by those involved remains under investigation. Debra Hobert sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Faulkton Area Medical Center.
