(Gettysburg, SD) – Sully Buttes picked up a 22-12 win on Friday night against their rivals in Gettysburg. The win for the Chargers continues their undefeated season campaign at now 5-0.
The Chargers would break into the end zone first on a one-yard touchdown run by Easton Moore which was set up by a 49-yard completion from the duo of Moore to Hudson Barber. Gettysburg would respond on the first play of the second quarter from 38 yards out from quarterback Boston Brown to Tyson Zeigler. After the Battlers tied the game at 6-6, neither team would be able to generate another score leaving the game tied at half.
The Chargers would score with a big play in the third quarter and would be one of the longest scores for Sully Buttes on the season. The Moore and Barber connection showed up again with a 69-yard touchdown pass connection. Sully Buttes would convert the two-point try making it 14-6 going into the fourth.
Sully Buttes would take advantage of a broken punt play that resulted in a fumble. The Chargers marched down to the one-yard line where Moore picked up his second rushing touchdown of the game making it 22-6 after another successful two-point try. The Battlers would add one more score to end the night with a 26-yard passing touchdown from Brown to Chase Furuli. The Battlers failed the two-point try as the Battlers fall to 2-3.
