(Onida, SD) – The Sully Buttes Chargers continue their 2026 football campaign undefeated after a 22-0 win against Redfield Friday night. The win improved them to 4-0 on the season and Sully Buttes recorded their first shutout of the year. They make the short roadtrip to Gettysburg Friday night.
It would take until the second quarter to see the Chargers record their first score of the game courtesy of a 22 yard touchdown pass from Easton Moore to Carson Mercer. Sully Buttes would strike again at the end of the half from 41 yards out. Moore would get his second touchdown throw of the night this time to Hudson Barber. The Chargers went into the half up 16-0 in a slow first half.
Sully Buttes running game would be effective on Friday with Zach Weinheimer recording the first 100 yard rushing game of the season for Sully Buttes rushing for over 121 yards on 18 carries. His rushing help the Chargers get the final score in the four quarter when Easton Moore threw his third touchdown of the game from five yards out to Barber for their second connection of the night.
Sully Buttes defense was also a huge factor in the win. Redfield recorded just 49 yards of offense while the Chargers offense methodically gained 278 on the night.
