The Pierre Governor tennis team would travel to Aberdeen on Saturday and take on the Golden Eagles in the final ESD dual of the season. The Govs would fall 6-3.
Eliza Mayer in singles flight two, Adrian Hand in flight three and Avery Scwhartz in flight four would all win their singles matches with Hand and Schwartz picking up the win in the third set while Mayer would sweep her opponent in two sets. The Golden Eagles would get wins in flight one, five and six in the singles and then win all three doubles matches to take the dual team win. The Governors fall to 5-11 on the season and finish the ESD season at 2-6.
The regular season isn’t over yet, though. Pierre will be at home both Tuesday and Thursday this week to close it out. Tuesday the Govs host Spearfish starting at 10:00 AM and then hosting St. Thomas More in the final regular season dual on Thursday with a 1:00 start. Both matches will be at the Griffin Park Tennis Courts.
