The Pierre Governor volleyball team will have back-to-back games this weekend as the Govs will head to Yankton tonight before returning home to face Jefferson on Saturday.
The 0-6 Govs will get its second straight Friday-Saturday weekend searching for the first win of the season. Yankton will come in at 3-7 on the season after losing to Vermillion on Thursday and will play its second of a back-to-back. Pierre will look to use it to their advantage although the trip to Vermillion is a short one for the Gazelles. Then on Saturday, Pierre returns home and will play its second straight game and third of the week against the Cavaliers who come into the weekend at 2-4. Jefferson lost in five sets to Roosevelt on Tuesday. Jefferson did beat Yankton earlier in the year with a four set victory.
Tonight’s first serve is scheduled for 6:30 in Yankton with Saturday’s match scheduled for 3:00. Coverage for Saturday will be on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports will be around 2:30 with Jon Winkler on the call.
