The Lead-Deadwood Golddiggers would have a strong second half to beat the Stanley County Buffaloes 50-0 Saturday night in Deadwood as the Buffs fall to 1-3 on the season.
The Buffaloes held Lead-Deadwood to just two first half touchdowns with a safety to make it 16-0 at the end of the first half. But the Golddiggers would score 34 second half points to win by the mercy rule and finish the game early picking up its first win of the season. However, the way Lead-Deadwood played in its first two games, they certainly were better than its 0-2 record. The defense, which allowed Philip only 12 points the week prior, came to play against the Buffalos keeping them off the scoreboard and scoring some of their own including the pick six to seal the game with just under three minute remaining.
The Buffaloes are 1-3 and will have its bye week this weekend before hosting Parkston on Homecoming on Friday, September 25th.
