After a long break from competition, the Pierre Governor golf team would start a busy stretch with a fifth place team finish at Hillcrest Country Club in Yankton on Friday.
The Governors actually tied for fourth, but Brandon Valley would finish in fourth winning the tiebreaker for the better fifth place golfer score. Caleb Hutton would lead the Governors tying for 15th place with an eight over par, 80. He would tie with three others while also being just five shots back of third place. Tate Stoeser would be right behind Hutton at nine over par, 81 tying for 19th place. Beckham McPeak at 12 over par, 84 tying for 29th and Matthew Eberhard being 13 over par, 85 to round out the four scoring Governors. Rigley Kulesa would be at 20 over par, 92 and Ryker Edson would finish with a 99. Lincoln’s Quinton Hollan would win the day individually at one under par, 71, winning by three shots.
As a team, Pierre shot a 42 over par, 330, just five shots back of Yankton for third and 14 shots back of second place O’Gorman. Lincoln would also win the team score at just 14 over par, 302.
