The Philip Lady Scotties would get its first win of the season Thursday night defeating the Stanley County Lady Buffaloes in straight sets 25-20, 25-16 and 25-17.
Stanley County battled in set one and trailed 23-20, but could not come all the way back to take the first. Stanley County had the second set tied 12-12, but the Lady Scotties would get a long rally going and score 13 of the last 17 points taking a 2-0 lead. The third set was again the same as the Lady Buffaloes would continue to battle, but as the set would get later, Philip would finish things out to take the sweep and pick up its first win of the season going to 1-4 on the season while the Lady Buffs fall to 0-6 on the year.
Stanley County will face North Central, Ipswich and Timber Lake all in Eureka on Saturday as the Buffs have three matches looking for its first win of the season. The action begins at 12:00 for the Lady Buffs on Saturday.
