(Onida, SD) – The Sully Buttes Chargers would fall in their lone home game of the week against the Winner Warriors on Thursday night which saw a sweep 25-10, 25-16, and 25-20.
The Chargers struggled in the first set only capturing 10 points. Sully Buttes would see 11 kills in the first set against them while they will on have one kill in the set courtesy of Jaycee Jaeger. The Chargers would only finish with unofficially four kills in the match. However, they would improve in each of the three sets. While they would fall to Winner in set two 25-16, The Chargers would have a competitive third set. Leading 14-11 in the third set, Winner would take a 18-15 lead and Sully Buttes would fight, but serve and receive errors would be the Achilles heel for the Chargers in the late stages of the third set and would fall 25-20.
Sully Buttes now have lost the last five meetings against Winner and 12 sets in a row. They are 0-7 on the season and will have four matches on Saturday in the Phillip tournament. The next broadcast will be September 17 against Lyman.
