The Pierre Governor cheer and dance team had its lone home invite of the season on Saturday and the dance team would take home third place while the cheer team would be sixth overall.
The cheer team would score a total of 215 points, beating Crazy Horse by 75 points as the two coed teams competing as the Govs would be sixth overall between all the schools in Pierre on Saturday. Pierre’s 215 would be 19 short of Winner for fifth place. Tea Area would win the cheer competition at 278, 8.5 points ahead of Watertown who finished in second place.
the dance team would compete in the hip-hop and pom division as the Govs would win the pom division with a 253.5, a point and a half better than Rapid City Central. Pierre would get fourth in the hip-hop at 233, a half point back of Mitchell and 12 points back of Tea. Rapid City Central would be the grand champion of the day scoring 39 points while Watertown would be in second at 38 points and then Pierre at 37, just missing a tie for second place. But it is the best scoring finish for the teams on the season for Pierre.
