The Pierre Governor cheer and dance team would compete for the second time this season and the Governors would finish in 11th for the cheer team and then 12th for the dance team.
For the Governor cheer team, Pierre would score an even 200 points, one back of Washington for tenth and within 17 points of reaching top eight. O’Gorman would beat out Jefferson by two and a half points winning 288 to 285.5. Harrisburg would be third at 283.5 and Brookings fourth at 279.5.
The Governor dance team would compete in the hip-hop and pom categories. Pierre finished in tenth at 212.5, one point behind Gregory and Tea for eighth place. Harrisburg would have the highest score at 264 in hip-hop. In pom, Pierre would place sixth at 231 points, 14 back of Jefferson for fifth place. Dakota Valley would beat out Brandon Valley by a single point at 278-277. However, Brandon Valley would win the invite having a higher score over Dakota Valley in total as both teams tied at 39 points. Harrisburg, O’Gorman and Jefferson would be 2-5. Pierre would be in 12th at 26 points and be within five of seventh.
