PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Riverfront Broadcasting family of radio stations has officially grown by six. The Federal Communications Commission has finalized the Yankton-based broadcasting company’s acquisition of Watertown flagship station K-W-A-T-A-M , K-S-D-R- A-M and FM and F-M signals K-I-X-X, K-D-L-O and K-K-S-D. The intent to purchase the stations from Connecticut-based Connoisseur Media was announced in mid-May. Riverfront’s collection of stations include three in Pierre, three in Huron, six in Rapid City, four in Yankton and stations in Spearfish, Deadwood and Blue Earth, Minnesota. The Watertown stations have been through a rapid series of ownership changes in the two and a half years. Alpha Media bought the cluster in 2024 and proceeded to fire most of it’s on-air staff. Connoisseur bought the Watertown stations from Alpha last year and now Riverfront Broadcasting officially taking ownership at the start of September. Riverfront bought the Watertown stations from Connoisseur for 350-thousand dollars.
