(Faulkton, SD) – The Sully Buttes Chargers was seeking their first win on Tuesday night and looking to snap a 14 game losing streak to Faulkton on the road. However, Sully Buttes will have to wait to break that streak after falling in three sets to Faulkton on Tuesday night will 25-23, 25-10, and 25-15 in the three set match. They will return to action Tuesday against Ipswich.
Sully Buttes were down eight but never gave up climbing all the way to trail 23-22 in the first set. However, it wasn’t meant otherwise be as an error by the Chargers would wrap up set one 25-23. The Trojans would record 11 kills in the first set while Sully Buttes had three of the five in set one. Set two and three were similar with runs by the Trojans made it difficult for the Chargers to come back in. Faulkton would outscore Sully Buttes 50-25 in the final two sets. The set scores were 25-10 in the second and 25-15 in the third.
Tahnie Yellowhawk led the team in kills with three. Jane Yackley would record three aces in the loss. Sully Buttes (0-5) will return to the court on Tuesday on the road against Ipswich for a 7:15 p.m. first serve which starts a first of series of matches for the Chargers next week.
