The Pierre Governor golf team would take home fourth place on Thursday in Huron with Caleb Hutton earning a top 15 finish on the afternoon at Broadland Creek Golf Course.
The Governors would be within 11 shots of second place as Pierre was 31 over par, four shots ahead of Mitchell who came in fifth. Brandon Valley would win the team score at just nine over par with Yankton at 20 over par in second and O’Gorman at 24 over par in third. Hutton would be the highest finishing Governor for the second time this year as he would place 11th at just five over par, 77, seven shots back of first and four shots back of third place. Hutton would birdie hole five finishing with six bogeys. Rigley Kulesa would tie for 17th place at eight over par, 80 while Matthew Eberhard and Beckham McPeck would round out the scoring a shot back of Kulesa at nine over par, 81. Tate Stoeser would be at 18 over par, 90 and Josh Luidahl at 19 over par, 91. Asher Dannenbring of Mitchell would lead the day at two under par, 70 beating out Yankton’s Elijah Larson by a stroke as he finished at one under par, 71.
