The Pierre Governor cross country teams will be hosting four teams including the Stanley County Buffaloes in the opening season run on Friday at Hillsview Golf Course.
The Governors usually host the first cross country meet of the season and over the last couple of years, the Govs have been running at the golf course where they had been running at Steamboat Park. Pierre has about one race per week leading up to the state championships in late October. Pierre will run again next week Friday at Augustana at the Twilight meet. Stanley County along with Miller and Aberdeen Central will be there for the varsity runs as the Buffs will run on Friday before then heading to Redfield next week Thursday for its second meet of the season.
The varsity runs will start at 10:00 AM at the Hillsview Golf Course in Pierre followed by the JV and middle school meets.
