The Stanley County Lady Buffaloes will be on the road to open the season tonight with a trip to Chamberlain to take on the Cubs starting a quick busy week.
The Lady Buffaloes graduated just two from last year’s team with Brianna Sargent and Breckyn Huebner as the Lady Buffaloes look to build from last year’s season. Stanley County finished at 6-21 and will open the season against the 6-20 Chamberlain Cubs who clipped the Lady Buffs in a five game set in Fort Pierre to open the season last year. While the Cubs graduated its best hitter from last year, Jayde McQuirk, the team’s primary setter, is heading into her sophomore campaign. Nicole Schmeidt is also returning for her sophomore season as she was third on the team in digs last year behind McQuirk. Sadie Herman, fourth on the team in digs is a junior this year. Overall the Cubs graduated just two from last year’s team. Stanley County will have its home opener coming up this weekend on Saturday with a triangular hosting Wall and Bennett County.
First serve is scheduled for 7:45 tonight in Chamberlain.
