The Sully Buttes Chargers will have several new faces in new roles this year as the volleyball season quickly approaches with the Chargers graduating eight from last year’s team.
The Chargers, who finished at 7-20 last season, will still bring back some experience, but overall the Chargers are going to have a different look to them with the majority stepping into the first varsity experience or adding on to the roles they had during last season. Sully Buttes lost in the quarterfinals of the Region 6B tournament to Highmore-Harrold to end its season last year. Randy Pool returns for his second season as head coach and says there’s five girls with varsity experience returning of the eight who will get a lot of playing time…
The libero returning is Tahnie Yellow Hawk who was an All-Conference member in both the YTC and CSDC All-Conference teams and Pool says she’s going to be relied on heavily on the back end…
Pool says it’s been a good summer for the Chargers…
Sully Buttes will open the season at home against the Jones County Coyotes next Tuesday, before playing at the Yellowstone Trail Conference Tournament in Gettysburg next week Saturday. Coverage of Tuesday’s game will be on Country 95.3 and on YouTube at Country 95.3 Sports with Wyatt Burichka on the call.
