FORT PIERRE, (KCCR) — A Pierre woman is accepting responsibility for allegedly misusing a credit card connected to the Community and Youth Involved Center in Fort Pierre. A plea deal has been reached that will have 47 year-old Dusti Deal pleading guilty to a single count of Grand Theft by Embezzlement. As a part of the plea, Deal’s attorney Katie Thompson is requesting a suspended imposition of sentence for Deal. In court Wednesday, Thompson questioned the wording in one of the documents regarding the range for Grand Theft. Deal has been accused of using the credit card to rack up approximately 45-thousand dollars in unauthorized purchase. Stanley County State’s Attorney Thomas P. Maher presented a restitution form and quoted an exact amount of 50-thousand-185 dollars and 64-cents. Both Thompson and Sixth Circuit Judge Bridget Mayer agreed the dollar amount presented by Maher concurred with the range for the Class Four felony. Mayer withheld a finding of guilt and ordered a presentence investigation. Sentencing is tentatively scheduled for October 21st.
