WINNER, (KCCR) — A Winner man has been indicted by a Tripp County Grand Jury on charges of Attempted First Degree Murder and Aggravated Assault. South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley says 24 year old Andrew Durroh was indicted Monday by the Grand Jury. Durroh is accused of assaulting a 29 year-old inmate at the Tripp County Jail while in the jail himself. The victim received serious injuries in the assault that took place in April. Durroh is also being charged by a separate information alleging that the assault was related to street gang membership affiliations he has. Jackley says if the street gang connection and criminal history can be proven, Durroh’s sentence on the attempted murder and aggravated assault charges could be enhanced. The Attempted First Degree Murder charge carries a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison and 15 on the Aggravated Assault. Durroh remains in custody. A court date has not been determined.
