The Sully Buttes Chargers football team has completed its first days of practice as they prepare for the 2026 season with plenty of returning while losing a few All-State players.
Most notably, QB Wesley Wittler, wide receiver Gavin Colson and linebacker Kadyn Westergren all received first team All-State for 9B as those three were three of the four to graduate from last year’s team who finished at 8-2 and fell in the quarterfinals to Faulkton. Now, for the 2026 season, the Chargers will look for a new man to control the snaps, a new dynamic receiver and looking for someone to take control of the linebacking core, but Tom Moore, head coach of the Chargers says there’s a lot of experience coming back which will helps to move guys into different positions…
The whole line will return for the Chargers. With guys moving into new roles, it opens up different spots for a new guys to take and Moore says it’s exciting to get practice underway to find out who takes those roles…
Sully Buttes moves into Class 9A after being in 9B the last several years as the Chargers will open the season at Faulkton and Kimball/White Lake before hosting Lyman prior to the team’s bye week. Moore says these first three games are hammers to deal with…
