PIERRE, (KCCR) — A fatal crash in Pennington County has injured a 19 year-old Pierre man. The South Dakota Highway Patrol the crash happened near the intersection of Bombing Range Road and Sheep Mountain Road approximately four-and-a-half miles south of Scenic on Monday just before eight a-m. The Highway Patrol’s preliminary investigation of the crash indicates a 2008 Chevy Impala driven by an 18 year-old woman from Wall was traveling north on Bombing Range Road when the Impala left the road surface. The driver attempted to correct the vehicle and lost control, causing the car to roll over. The driver was killed in the crash. The 19 year-old from Pierre suffered serious, non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Monument Health Rapid City. The names of those involved are being withheld pending notification of family.
